NRL awarded Network Rail Ground Support contract
NRL’s specialist Rail team have been awarded a contract to provide Ground Support Teams to support Network Rail’s S&C Grinding Trains.
The contract continues the work the team already delivers to provide essential maintenance and upgrade improvements across Network Rail’s infrastructure – having successfully secured the renewal following exemplary service and safety standards. Work undertaken will include grinding, asset inspection and ultrasonic testing.
The Rail team, based in Barnsley and Grangemouth, have delivered projects across the UK since 2001, with this contract renewal landing as they begin to celebrate 20 years in business.
Discussing the contract NRL’s Rail Business Director Jim Taylor said,
It’s extremely rewarding to see our commitment to safety and service reflected with this contract renewal. This 3 year+ programme is a great chance to continue to support Network Rail, as well as providing further opportunities for our new apprenticeships to get hands-on experience.
This is testament to the teams’ hard work and meticulous focus on safety and compliance, which has rewarded us with a continued partnership with Network Rail that spans over two decades – and follows our 2020 achievement of securing a Principal Contractor Licence holder.
Jim Taylor, NRL Rail Business Director
